Beginner - Intermediate Level
Learners will have fun reading veterinary case studies and testing their veterinary knowledge using the “Be the Vet” Book Series (Book 2). This is the second class in this series, with Book 1 and Book 3 also available. Using the “Be the Vet” Book Series book #2, learners will read the case studies (2 chapters) each and follow along with the stories of a pet’s visit to the vet. I have been a certified veterinary technician for more than 30 years, have a MEd from Colorado State University and I am now finishing up my second Master’s program and will have a Master of Veterinary Education (MVEd) from Lincoln Memorial University’s School of Veterinary Medicine in May 2024. I have been teaching at local colleges in veterinary Assistant Programs and an equine studies program. I have also enjoyed teaching a variety of Veterinary Science programs for grades 3-5, 6-8, and high school summer programs in person and online. I am also a homeschool mom! At home, my family has 3 mini horses, a Paint horse, 4 Nigerian dwarf goats, 9 chickens and 2 cats! I am passionate about sharing my experience and love for animals and veterinary medicine with all learners from diverse backgrounds from all around the world! If your learner has a dream to be a veterinary professional, then I am excited to help them on this first step!
Homework Offered
Learners will be expected to have the book (Kindle version is ok) and to read and take notes on the assigned chapters PRIOR to class.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
