**if this class schedule does not work for you for any reason please do not hesitate to reach out and I am happy to schedule at a time that we agree upon works for us both!**

In this ongoing course I will take students through all things horses from a veterinarians perspective! This class is meant to be an interactive conversation with live demonstrations with Dr. Carner and her own horses. Sometimes seeing what we are describing in real life makes the material much more relatable!

As for right now this class is going to be on a 10 week rotation - every 10 weeks we will go through this material again - students can join at any time.

*Requests for topics will also always be taken into consideration and may be added*

Week 2 (5/31/24)- Equine external anatomy

Class structure -

Students are encourage to ask questions and take part in conversations.

**This course is not meant to replace the services of your local veterinarian**
**I cannot diagnose, treat or make medical recommendations for the care of horses on this platform or for my students. **
Learning Goals
Students will learn veterinary vocabulary, terms and topics related to the horse. There are no assignments for this one time course, however Dr. Carner will be offering courses in the future that will build on the discussions that take place in this class.

1. Students should be comfortable describing the basic anatomy of the horse in lay terms and understand the medical/ scientific terms
2. Students should have a basic grasp on equine health and maintenance requirements
3. Students should come away with an appreciation and understanding of horse yearly exams and maintenance
learning goal

Other Details

Parental Guidance
There should not be any upsetting or scary material but I will be working with and describing animals. While they are most of the time extremely gentle and predictable, there can be occasions where sometime unpredictable could happen. This could mean a horse gets spooked and jumps sideways or it could mean that they could be standing super comfortably and occasionally male horses will relax their genitals. I will always do my best to avoid any of these distractions for students and make sure they are getting the very best experience out of my courses.
