Vet Careers for Young Children
Class experience
US Grade 1 - 4
Beginner Level
This class introduces students to veterinary science. ***Please note that I prefer students to have their video cameras on during the class. Also, there will be intermittent video clips from YouTube to explain the topic visually. A child should attend class independently. Parents and siblings are NOT to be seen on camera. If you are with your child, please refrain from talking to your child. Whispers can easily be picked up by the microphone and heard by all attendees, so refrain from...
Students will learn about the different types of veterinarians there are. Students will learn vocabulary and about what it entails to be a domestic animal vet, farm animal vet, aquatic vet, wildlife vet, lab vet, and a professor veterinarian. Having reviewed the different types of vets, they may come to choose which kind of vet they would like to be when they grow up.
My degree is in Biology. I have taught 4H Vet Science and also done Vet Pet Summer Camps at a local private school. My joy is educating children who are interested in this field of veterinary science.
Homework Offered
Students are asked to color different pictures. There are vocabulary words they can copy if they want. The students will receive a coloring book after their first class with teacher Pat. Each day they can choose to color a page.Assessments Offered
