Learners will hear a brief history of vaccines and how they have played a role in the defeat of certain viruses. The class will also cover an introduction into how vaccines work to prevent extreme illness. Students will see a simple activity from Dr. Bryce to demonstrate the science of vaccination using cornstarch and sponges. This activity can easily be replicated by learners at home after class. At the end of the class, there will be time for learners to ask questions.
