In this 3-week course, students will learn inferencing skills and use them to solve a pretend crime and real historical mysteries.
Class experience
US Grade 4 - 6
During this 3-week course, students will learn what inference clues are and how to identify them. They will understand the importance of context clues and attention to details. I will explain inferencing to them and give them several examples of how to identify it. We will then use what they have learned to do some short inference practice activities. Students will be able to understand and use inferencing skills to pick out important details in what they see and read.
If learners would like to keep notes or write down their thoughts to share later, they can bring a pencil and paper to class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
