They will be given printables that they must have printed out before the beginning of each class. Using powerpoint, we will discuss each state and its geographical location. Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in English Language and Literature from University of South Florida
I graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor's degree in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing from the University of South Florida. I have homeschooled for 23 years, which allowed me to teach various subjects. For about 10 years, I taught many different classes in our homeschool co-op--grammar, Creative Writing, music appreciation, World War 2 history, speech, a plagiarism class, and Physical Education. I was also a head cheerleading coach for about 6 years and I am a certified Pharmacy Technician for 29 years.
My philosophy with teaching is simple. I teach the kids what they need to know, make sure they do well, and understand the concept before moving on to the next one. But, I also believe in listening to the kids, having discussions, and having fun with them. Learning is all about the student.
I have recently become a Step-Up for Students provider for my tutoring classes!
Something fun and personal about me is that I was very introverted growing up. However, teaching at our homeschool group really helped me come out of my shell, as well as being a cheerleading coach. Introverted people usually aren't cheerleaders. But, my husband and I ran a flag football and cheerleading league and there was no one to coach the girls. So, I decided that I had to do it. I didn't want to let the girls down. They were so excited to be cheering.
Now, I hope that I have the opportunity to teach your child and have fun with them!
