 Week 1
Lesson 1
Introduction to Urban Sketching
• Understand what urban sketching is. • Learn about the basic materials needed. • Practice exercises in observational drawing.
 Week 2
Lesson 2
Perspective and Proportions
• Learn the basics of one-point perspective. • Practice drawing buildings and streets using a one-point perspective. • Understand how to keep proportions accurate.
 Week 3
Lesson 3
Light and Shadow
• Understand how light affects objects and creates shadows. • Learn shading techniques to add depth to sketches. • Practice using hatching, cross-hatching, and stippling.
 Week 4
Lesson 4
Adding Details and Textures
• Focus on capturing details like windows, doors, and other architectural elements. • Learn techniques to add texture to buildings and surfaces. • Practice detailed observational drawing.
 Week 5
Lesson 5
Urban Nature
• Learn techniques for drawing trees, plants, and green spaces within urban environments. • Practice capturing the textures and forms of foliage. • Understand how to balance nature and architecture in sketches.
 Week 6
Lesson 6
Capturing People in Urban Sketches
• Learn to quickly capture people’s poses and movements. • Practice drawing simple human figures and gestures. • Understand how to incorporate people into urban scenes.
 Week 7
Lesson 7
Capturing Movement and Energy
• Learn how to depict movement and energy in urban sketches. • Practice quick, expressive sketching techniques. • Capture the hustle and bustle of urban life.
 Week 8
Lesson 8
Creating a Complete Urban Sketch
• Combine all the skills learned throughout the course. • Create a complete urban sketch from a photo reference. • Learn to review and refine sketches.
  • Students will learn to draw urban landscapes, mastering techniques to observe, sketch, and capture bustling cityscapes, their architecture, and the people within them.

Certificate of Completion
Frequency: available upon request
Details: An E-Certificate of Completion with grades will be provided for learners who have completed all sessions and actively participate in class activities, including sharing their work at the end of each meeting. Learners who miss more than 3 meetings or do not participate in showing their work may not be eligible to receive the certificate.
