This ongoing workshop will focus on developing the learner’s creative process rather than concentrating on the finished product. Each session will include a short educational lecture, time to write from a prompt, and an opportunity for learners to read their work out loud. Learners will practice a variety of creative writing techniques. They will read their writing out loud, with instruction on proper read-aloud techniques. They will participate in feedback circles where they will learn to give and receive supportive and constructive analysis of each other's writing. This workshop focuses on developing the creative process rather than on the finished product.
I am an ACE Educator for Outschool. I have a BA in Linguistics from San Diego State University, a TEFL Teaching Certificate, and a Google Digital Marketing and Ecommerce certificate. I am a Distinguished Toastmaster and a member of the D25 Speakers' Bureau. I run my own blog and have extensive experience with social media marketing and influencer programs. I work in preproduction story development in the entertainment industry.
Cameras are required to be on at all times, and the learner must be in a quiet location. Learners must come prepared with writing tools, either a computer or paper and pencil.
All discussions, prompts and creativity will be kept at a G rating in this workshop.
