includedClass Experience
In this 3-week course, students will seek to gain a general base of knowledge into cryptocurrencies, how they work, their uses, and problems associated with some of the most popular types of cryptocurrencies. This class will be teacher-led, but will give ample time for student discussions and questions to further the learning process. Students will also be directed with several exploration questions that will be given during class, as well as posted and answered through the Outschool classroom. These questions will be to encourage students to conduct a bit of out of class research and formulate their own thoughts and ideas about the assigned topics. The course schedule will be as follows: Week 1: Basics of Cryptocurrencies, the most popular coins & tokens, their purposes, and how they are used or could be used in the future. Week 2: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Solana, Cardano, Dogecoin, and other popular coins. In this weeks class, we will also look to discover "What Bitcoin mining is?" and how it is done. Week 3: We will discuss cryptomarkets, "What is blockchain?", problems with specific cryptocurrencies, NFTs (Nonfungible Tokens), and how to get started investing in cryptocurrencies.
Learning Goals
In this 3 week class, students will look to gain a general working knowledge of the basic ideas associated with Cryptocurrencies, and build a base of knowledge sufficient enough to allow them to invest in Cryptocurrencies if they so desired.

Parental Guidance
While this class will be made for beginners, a small working knowledge of how the stock market and investing works would be extremely helpful in gaining a greater insight into the material that will be covered. I teach a class entitled, "Investing for Beginners" that would be a great starting point to gain this basic knowledge that is needed.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Sources
I will be drawing from my extensive experience teaching investing and finance classes over the past 6 years, as well as my MBA to help students understand investing and how it works. I will be also drawing from my own knowledge as an investor in cryptocurrencies to help student understand the topics that will be covered.
