Class Experience

Unfortunately, cancer affects all age groups and can occur anywhere in the body. Whether it's a grandparent, parent, other family or friends/children, there are typically many questions. Though some appropriate answers can be found, breaking down cancer into simple understanding concepts is what I do best. For that reason, all the information cannot be taught in one session that will allow adequate time for Q&A. There will be 2 separate stand alone classes: Cancer Basics and then Common Cancer Treatments:

Topics Covered:
The Importance of Cancer Information
Common Occurrence of cancer
How Cancer Develops
The process of how cancer is diagnosed and staged
Common terminology of staging equipment used (CT, MRI, US, etc.,)
Introduction to treatments

Teaching Style:
This is meant to be an interactive class. Every student has a voice and bring their own unique experience to the classroom, from which we can all learn. Typically, each student is acknowledged and asked if there is anything they would like to contribute. That way, each person has the opportunity to at least say, "I have nothing to add" Additionally, there are questions within the powerpoint presentation, which will be asked in a "round-robin" fashion. There will be time at the end of class for question and answer, as time permits.

Please Note: No sharing of personal information, No 1-to-1 or personal advice given, and this is not a training for any future certificate. This serves to provide exposure to common topic of cancer
