What is your favorite sea creature? Do you love animals like dolphins, jellyfish, crabs, whales, sharks and more? Join Miss Stephanie and her friend Pancake as they meet some marine wildlife. We will begin with the “Hello Everyone” song and then introduce various sea animals. If you already know how to count in order, that’s great! In this class we will count by 2’s all the way to 20. Each student will be sent an “Under the Sea” template. They will be asked to print this out before class and bring colored pencils or markers and Play-Doh (or a molding clay of their choice) along with the printout. The molding clay will be used as a tactile way to visually see the jumps from one number to the next. Ready to get creative? Learners will use their art tools to draw their favorite underwater animal. Looking forward to seeing you in class and having some fun together!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! My name is Stephanie Cesario. It’s nice to meet you! :)
I believe in the beauty of inquiry and the joy in exploration. At the core of my teaching philosophy is to facilitate a classroom that is fun, hands-on and accommodates a variety of learning styles! I have guided hundreds of young learners in their early years and seen them grasp academic concepts, while also flourishing in social and emotional areas.
I am an Ontario Certified Teacher. I graduated with a Bachelor of Education (2009) and Masters of Education (2011) from the University of Ottawa. My teaching specialization is Primary/Junior (K-6th Grade). I spent 7 years in different roles, as Early Childhood English Coordinator, Program Coordinator and Teacher at Digital Chosun Canadian Culture and Language Institute in Seoul, Korea. I was a Teaching Assistant at the University of Ottawa’s Bilingualism Institute (2010) and completed additional qualifications courses “Teaching English as a Second Language” (2013) and “Teaching Learners with Communication Needs: Autism Spectrum Disorder” (2021). I taught teachers how to teach Kindergarten. I also worked as an Instructor in a university setting from 2016-2019.
Some of the courses I taught were Kindergarten (numbers, colours, shapes, letters of the alphabet, themes), Phonics (letter sounds, letter blends, reading sight words and reading short stories), Writing (periodical writing, film reviews and book reports), Language Arts (understanding social justice and reading comprehension) and English (pronunciation, understanding and using idioms, phrasal verbs and grammar).
On a personal side: I love to travel and explore different countries and cultures. A hobby of mine is snail mail. I love sending and receiving postcards to/from people all across the globe. I can't wait to meet you and learn together!
I am enthusiastic about ensuring that students have a love of art and literacy and love of learning. I pride myself in creative and well-planned curriculum, an inclusive classroom setting and in being part of sparking the "Aha-moments" that help students realize that they love to learn!
