1 live meeting
25 mins in-class hours per weekHomework
1 hour per week. Students are encouraged to practice the chords and songs learned after each class. Practicing 10 minutes or more 5 days a week is highly recommended.Class Experience
Learn to sing and play a new song each week in this ongoing intermediate ukulele club! Designed for students who have had significant prior ukulele experience and are at the intermediate level. It is a great way to build your song repertoire! We learn a wide variety of songs including children's songs, folk songs, pop songs, seasonal songs and songs from well-known tv shows and movies. This is an appropriate level class for students who have had significant previous ukulele experience, can play the C, F, C7, G and G7 chords and are comfortable switching back and forth between chords. I highly recommend practicing and reviewing the C, F, C7, G and G7 chords before enrolling in this class. We will learn new chords together too. Each week we will sing a Hello song to welcome everyone to class, practice ukulele technique and chords, learn how to sing and play a new song on the ukulele, finish with a Goodbye song and continue to develop our love of this fun instrument! Join in to sing and play for as many weeks as you like! Week 1: “A Million Dreams” Verse 1 & Pre-Chorus Week 2: “A Million Dreams” Chorus & Verse 2 Week 3: "Fireflies" Week 4: "Take Me Home, Country Roads"
Learning Goals
Students will review the fundamentals of ukulele including how to hold the instrument, ukulele playing position and rest position, how to strum, proper hand and finger position, chords, and how to count and play chord patterns. Learners will build upon their ukulele technique and skills by learning how to play and sing a new song each week. They will also improve their rhythm, counting skills, and pattern recognition.

I am a certified music educator with a M.A in Music & Music Education. I fell in love with the ukulele over a decade ago, and have been playing and teaching it ever since. I have been teaching group ukulele classes for 10 years. I also have taught private music lessons for 15 years. I love this instrument and specialize in teaching beginning instrumental music lessons to young beginners. The ukulele is a happy instrument, so my goal is to make learning the ukulele fun and frustration-free.
