1 hour per week. Practice and write more new songs for funAssessment
Learners will be assessed through informal observation.Class Experience
In this class, we will use simple chords (like the C chord for example) and tunes to simple songs to write a class song together. For example, we may use a simple song like Row, Row, Row Your Boat (played with only the C chord) and change the words to the following: Snow, Snow, Snow, is falling Snow is falling down. Put on a jacket, Dear. Let's go to town. We will play and sing the song/songs together, and students will be encouraged to write their own after class and share their new songs by video or text to the class page. In addition, we will discuss using rhyming words and changing strumming patterns to give the song/songs different effects. After class, I will email out the written songs that we wrote together in class, so students can enjoy playing the songs at home. Having a ukulele is NOT mandatory. You can still join in and enjoy songwriting without a ukulele.
Learning Goals
Students will gain new confidence and skills in ukulele playing, songwriting, and performing in front of others.
