Tweens Come Sing With Me
Nita Stone teaches this ongoing vocal coaching class. We will work on six songs each month from different styles. The songs are posted in the class posts.

Do you like to sing? Come learn the correct vocal skills with Nita Stone. We will work on 5 - 6 different songs each month in class. Each song is on the schedule for 2 months. There are 1 - 2 new songs each month. We have lots of fun in this class. The last week of each month, students are given the opportunity to sing for the class. Nita has been performing since the age of 5. She has sung with several different groups including Sweet Adeline choruses. She studied voice in college and has been teaching voice for several years. Week of September 2nd - Welcome, Posture, Pitch, Sing 2 - 3 songs practicing posture and pitch. Week of September 9th - Welcome, Review, Vowels, Sing 2 - 3 songs practicing vowels. Week of September 16th - Welcome, Review, Diphthongs, Sing 2 - 3 songs practicing diphthongs. Week of September 23rd - Welcome, Review, Expression, Sing 2 - 3 songs practicing expression. Each month as a new song is introduced, we will practice vowels, diphthongs, and expression for the new song.
Learning Goals
Vocal Skills including posture, breathing, pitch, and expression. We will have fun learning and singing.

Hi! I hope you will enjoy my classes. I have a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering Technology. I worked in the telecommunications field for 10 years. I have a Master of Arts in Teaching and Learning with Technology and just need to finish my dissertation for my Educational Doctorate in eLearning and Organizational Leadership. I formally taught English as a Foreign Language to children in China from home. I love teaching.
I have a wide range of interests and hobbies. I love gardening, sewing, needlework, crafts, singing, reading, and cooking. I am currently an Arkansas Master Gardener. I have 2 grown daughters, 3 granddaughters, and 1 grandson.
I have been singing and performing since I was 5 years old. I studied voice at Collin County College and Texas Women's University. I have taken private voice lessons and taught vocal coaching for over 15 years.
I was a Sweet Adeline for 15 years. I sang with the 5 time International champion Rich Tone Chorus for 3 years and Texas Harmony for 10 years. I have also worked with 2 new choruses in the Dallas area. I also sang in a quartet called Rambunxious for 3 years.
I have been a sub teacher in the public schools for over 17 years. I sub 2 days a week currently. I have tutored all subjects and grades. I love reading and read a book each month. One of my favorite subjects is history. I love reading about history and the lessons we can learn. I love to learn about the different states and countries on our wonderful planet.
