US Grade Pre-Kindergarten
This class is for children who are ready to begin learning their letters and their accompanying sounds. Using UFLI (University of Florida Literacy Institute) and other materials, we will learn/review letter sounds and practice blending sounds together to sound out simple words. As a classroom teacher, I have over 20 years of experience helping preschool to college level students read more fluently. I have a Masters Degree in Elementary Education with an Early Childhood Endorsement and a Reading Specialist Concentration. I have experience tutoring online and work with many ages of children, helping them learn to enjoy reading.
Homework Offered
Sometimes students will be asked to find objects around the home or school that begin with the letters we study.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
While engaging with your learner online, I can evaluate strengths and weaknesses. Each week, new letters and sounds will be introduced.Grades Offered
None needed but large-sized markers and a whiteboard are helpful.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
