Class Experience

In this one-time tutoring session, students will have the opportunity to work with a state certified teacher to sharpen their skills in reading, writing, and or math. With over ten years of experience, I will tailor each session to the individual student's needs. As a certified special education teacher, I can provide support and strategies to all learners. I have been trained in Fundations, Writer's Workshop, guided reading, and the DRA assessment. I have taught reading, writing, and math to grades K-5 in both the general education, inclusion, and special education classroom setting. Prior to the week's session, parents will have the opportunity to provide the teacher with information regarding their learner as well as their desires for the focus of each session. This will be a private session. Students will work one on one with the teacher to improve:
-Reading strategies/comprehension/phonics
-Writing Skills, Mechanics, Development
-Grammar
-Math
-Homework Help
-Study Strategies/Preparing for an Assessment
The teacher will provide all materials for this one on one tutoring session unless otherwise specified by the parents/teacher. Parents can request for the teacher to work with their learner to complete assigned homework from their school, or study for an upcoming assessment. If requesting help with homework assignments, projects, or study skills, please provide materials at least 30 minutes prior to class.

Please send me a message with several dates and times that would work for you and your learner to schedule this session.

“What do you want to be when you grow up?” they asked.
“A Teacher!” I exclaimed.

This has always been my impassioned response to this question from the moment I was old enough to speak.

Hello! I am Miss Ashley, and I am so excited to meet your student! Ever since I was a little one, I have always wanted to be a teacher. Teaching is my passion.

I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education and Psychology with a minor in Special Education. I am dual certified in Elementary Education and Special Education in the states of New Jersey, Montana, and Florida. My experiences lie in the public and private school systems spanning kindergarten through fifth grade and the online setting in grades K-12. With over a decade of experience, I have taught in the general education, special education, and inclusion classroom settings. I have served on the curriculum writing teams for Writer's Workshop, math, and science. On these teams, I developed detailed lessons, selected and developed coordinating materials, and aided in creating a scope and sequence. While educating little ones in the brick and mortar school, I began teaching ESL online. In the last three years, I have done small and whole classroom teaching online and just ended my fifth year of online education as a whole class instructor where I video in live to a classroom for the entire day.

Whether in the classroom or online, I strive to improve and innovate to address each learning style in my classroom. I believe in a hands on minds on approach to learning. If a student is able to interact with a lesson, they will remain engaged in the lesson. I aim to make each lesson inclusive of all students and their learning style to enrich their individual learning experience. I will combine my experience and passion to create and offer a variety of elementary academic classes including writing, math, and reading. I want to guide students in becoming passionate readers, creative writers, inquisitive scientists, analytical historians, and studious mathematicians during their online academic journey.

I am a high energy teacher, and it is my honor and responsibility to ensure my students are as excited about learning as I am about teaching.

I look forward to getting to know your child and being part of their academic journey.

I hope you are ready to have fun while learning!

-Ms. Ashley
