Class Experience
Here’s how the tutoring class will be structured: What will be taught? We'll focus on key math and ELA skills for grades 3-6, covering topics like basic operations, fractions, reading comprehension, and writing techniques. The aim is to help students master challenging concepts and fill in learning gaps. What topics will you cover? Math: Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and word problems. ELA: Reading comprehension strategies, vocabulary building, writing complete sentences, and paragraph structuring. How is your class structured? The class will include a mix of direct instruction, interactive activities, and individual practice. We'll start with a warm-up activity, move on to a mini-lesson for the day's topic, and end with games or group challenges to reinforce learning. How will you teach? I’ll use a combination of hands-on activities, engaging games, and visual aids to keep things interesting. There will be plenty of opportunities for students to ask questions, solve problems together, and practice new skills in a supportive environment. What's your teaching style? My teaching style is interactive and student-centered, focusing on making learning fun and accessible. I encourage students to take risks, celebrate their progress, and develop a growth mindset. How much will learners get to interact with you? Students will get to interact with me a lot during each session. There will be: Discussions: To introduce topics and share ideas. Games: To practice skills in a fun, competitive way. Guided Practice: Where I help students solve problems step-by-step. Small Group Activities: For collaboration and peer learning. My goal is to create a space where learning feels like an adventure!

Teacher expertise and credentials
I’m passionate about making learning fun and engaging, which is why I love to gamify my lessons. Whether it’s turning math problems into interactive games or using storytelling to spark creativity in writing, I find that students learn best when they’re having fun.
Creative writing is one of my favorite areas to teach because it allows students to express themselves in unique ways, and I enjoy watching them develop their voice and confidence through storytelling. In math, I focus on intervention, especially with concepts like ratios and unit rates. I love turning challenging concepts into hands-on activities, like math games, to make learning feel more like play than work.
I enjoy working with middle school and upper elementary students (grades 3-5). They’re at an age where they’re curious and ready to take on more complex challenges. When learning is interactive, I’ve seen how students, especially those who need extra motivation, can really thrive.
