In this session, learners will explore how to turn on ears, eyes, brain, and heart to be an active and effective listener.
Class experience
Students will explore being an active listener through stories, role play, and movement. My teaching style is playful and fun. I like to incorporate props to emphasize the skills addressed. Students will determine what part of the body needs to activate and what to rest to be an optimal listener. Discussion of why good listening is essential for success in school and at home will be included.
Students will explore turning ON ears, eyes, brain, and heart and turning OFF the voice and hands to be an active and effective good listener. Students will discuss the consequences of not being a good listener and why listening is essential to success wherever we go and whatever we do!
I have been a public educator for 30 years: teacher, school librarian, and school counselor! I currently serve as an elementary school counselor, with my 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher Training and 95 hour Children's Specialty Certification. I have over 900 hours of Yoga Teaching Experience. I am thankful for the opportunity to share important life skills with young learners!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
