This course will cover essential math concepts over nine weeks, including fractions, mixed numbers, decimals, integers, order of operations, ratios, and proportions. Students will build a solid understanding of how to work with these concepts. Each class is structured to include a short lecture, followed by guided practice, interactive activities, and time for questions and discussion. We begin with a review and discussion of previous topics and introduce and practice new topics for each class meeting. I will use a variety of teaching methods including short lectures, slide presentations, video clips, and step-by-step problem-solving demonstrations. Students will also participate in games, collaborative activities, and class discussions to reinforce learning and make math fun and engaging. My teaching style is interactive and supportive, focusing on making math accessible and enjoyable for all learners. I aim to foster a growth mindset by encouraging questions and celebrating progress. Students will have plenty of opportunities to interact with me throughout the course. They can ask questions during lectures, participate in discussions, and engage in problem-solving activities where I provide guidance and feedback. We’ll also use interactive games and group challenges to deepen their understanding of concepts.
