The teacher will: Read "The Berenstain Bears Trick or Treat" aloud to the students. Pause periodically to ask questions about the story and the characters to encourage active listening. Model making inferences from the text and encourage the students to do the same. For example, "Why do you think Brother Bear wanted to dress up as a superhero for Halloween?" or "What do you think Sister Bear will choose as her Halloween costume?" Cite specific textual evidence while reading, such as "Brother Bear exclaimed, 'I want to be a superhero and save the day!'" After reading the book, facilitate a discussion about the Berenstain Bears' Halloween adventure. IF YOU WANT TO SCHEDULE A PRIVATE CLASS FOR YOUR HOMESCHOOL GROUP, GIRL SCOUT OR BOY SCOUT TROOP OR LIBRARY, PLEASE SEND ME A MESSAGE.
