My goal in each meeting “ Travel the World – Stamp Collecting Club “ is to have fun while we look at stamps from around the world and explore different countries, cultures and peoples. The class will be modified to reflect the culture of the students in that section. Students will see stamps and culture from their own country and also explore other cultures and peoples around the world. They will learn about stamp collecting, art and organizational skills. Students will learn about stamp collecting as a hobby and even as a possible investment. They will learn about culture, art and history around the world. Each student will focus on organization skills and how to take care of their collection.
Peter Simmons is an educator with over fifteen years of professional teaching experience in Maine, New Hampsire and Massachusetts. He is also a stamp collector and has produced a pilot for a stamp collecting TV show. He is now creating children's events and workshops live and online. His commitment is to educate, ispire and entertain children of all ages. His goal is to help student create a bright future and recognize their own gifts and talents.
Homework Offered
There will be no official homework but as a club the students will have fun outside of the meetings learning and collecting stamps on their own.Assessments Offered
Grades Offered
It would be helpful, but not necessary for students to have some stamps to explore as the beginning of a collection. If they already collect stamps that would be great too.
