US Grade 3 - 6
In this class, we will explore National Parks in the United States. No prior knowledge is necessary to join the class. Each week we will study a new park. We will learn about the history of the park and what makes each location unique. We will watch a short video about each park and then as a group, we will answer discussion questions. Each week, I will also send a worksheet and links for more information about each park, so students can continue to learn more about the parks in America and across the world. If students have visited the park, I encourage them to share about their experience and share souvenirs with the class. This list includes some of the parks we may discuss during class. Teacher expertise and credentials
My family has extensive experience traveling to and vacationing in National Parks throughout the US. My husband's grandfather retired from the National Parks Service as an Engineer. He helped design the famous 'deer crossing' sign seen throughout the parks. My children complete the Junior Ranger programs at each park location. We love studying the history and geography of each park we visit. It is amazing to see how different each park can be!
