Assuming that you child will complete the school year with Transitioning to Kinder (TK) Ages 4-6 (Ongoing, Full Curriculum), the learning goals of this course is for your child to be prepared to enter into kindergarten with the following skill knowledge: 1) Ability to visually identify upper and lowercase letters. 2) Ability to demonstrate beginning, middle and ending consonant sounds. 3) Ability to identify and count numbers 1-100 in order and at random. 4) Ability to answer questions with a complete sentence through teacher led reading comprehension activities. 5) Ability to identify 2D & most 3D shapes. 6) Ability to hold a writing tool appropriately. 7) Ability to hold scissors appropriately. 8) Ability to write first and last name. 9) Ability to write numbers 1-100. 10) Ability to draw a self-expressed portrait which can include head, eyes, nose, ears, arms, body, legs, and feet

Assessments and feedback from daily evaluation will be provided to families daily/weekly. An un-grading (no letter grade) approach is one of many ways to provide immediate feedback relating to your learners' understanding. The teacher will provide recommendations to help support the academic development and growth for your child. Please pay close attention to those emails as they're sent regularly to make correction where needed. This is also an opportunity for the teacher to share progress and celebrate appropriately.Grades Offered

Parents are highly encouraged to be present during scissor use to prevent any possible injuries. Also, parents are encouraged to provide writing support (hand-over-hand) if and/or whenever needed. The goal is to instill confidence for future fine motor independence.
