Tongue Twisters, Alliteration, and More! In this single class workshop, students will begin by reading a number of classic tongue twisters slowly then as quickly as possible. The reading will be followed by a review of the literary element of alliteration followed by a guided class discussion identifying alliteration in the tongue twister selections. - Students will practice reading fluency by reading tongue twisters. Students will also be able to identify and use alliteration in a sentence.
Carla Bratland earned her Masters in Elementary Education from Lesley University and has taught 4th and 5th Grade English Language Arts in many setting for over 15 years. Mrs. Bratland has also been a Professional Development Presenter at The PD Collab, Salem, MA with Language Arts and Social Studies topics including the workshop title: Poetry for Every Classroom.

We will use excerpts from the picture book Animalia by Graham Nash for alliteration inspiration. Classic tongue twisters will also be provided for read aloud.
