Beginner Level
These are classes for kids that love to dance and move to music. We will begin with a warm up to music, warming our muscles and getting into a fun dance mood. We will work on some basic tap steps and movements, and Tiny Tim, my helper puppet will also try some steps, which will amuse the learners and help to keep the young dancers interested. We will also have a game along the way to keep things as entertaining as possible. Each week will follow the same format - and each week we will learn new steps. The steps chosen for each class will be learner directed, depending on each learners capabilities. Some of the Tap Steps covered will be: Marching and clapping. Jumps / hops. Toe and heel taps. Cramp rolls. Flaps - flap toe heel, flap step ball change. Shuffles, shuffle hop step, shuffle ball change. Many of the basic tap steps. We will be working towards setting some combinations to music in each class, and having some fun along the way.

Other Details
Parental Guidance
Your learner dancer needs to be wearing comfortable clothing that they can easily move in.
Please have a large enough space for your dancer to move and turn around freely without fear of bumping into something or knocking something over.
Learners should either wear tap shoes or hard soled shoes.
If neither are available, sports shoes are fine.
( Please ensure any shoes with laces have the laces tied firmly to avoid stepping on them by
accident.)
An optional extra is a tapping board or a wooden board or panel or something similar that doesn't bend when jumped on.
My board that I use in class is from the local hardware store and measures appx. 35 x 45 inches.
Please have drinking water on hand too, as the dancers may become thirsty during their activities.
