Time Travel Dungeons and Dragons Game Ages 8-12
Every week we will be adventuring through World History to interact with famous historical figures and historically accurate settings. This is a roleplaying game using the Dungeons and Dragons 5e system. No previous experience is needed.

We will be adventuring throughout time by using the Dungeons and Dragons 5e rule set. No previous experience with Dungeons and Dragons is needed as I will teach everyone how to play before our first class. We will interact with historically accurate settings from world history, talk to historical figures and participate in world events. Every week we will adventure to a new moment in time to not only learn more about it but to participate in history. In my sessions I engage student's imaginations and many skills including critical thinking skills and creative problem solving skills.

Learning Needs
I'll be working on common executive function skills including: cognitive flexibility, attention, self control, metacognition, working memory, and perseverance. This class isn't designed for ADHD learning needs but it does support them.
Parental Guidance
We will be encountering historical events which may include plagues, war, famine, revolutions, and fire. Psychological safety is incredibly important to me. Should a player realize they are uncomfortable with any element as it's being encountered in the moment of game play (when describing a spider for example), Alchemy (the online system I'll be using to run the game) has a built in safety feature which when clicked, will anonymously inform me a player is uncomfortable and allow me to immediately shift away from that story element in real time.
