US Grade 3
Are you getting ready for third grade? Or maybe you want to make sure you have mastered some of the third grade standards? Math can be difficult and frustrating for many students. Often times, skills build upon each other creating learning gaps and making more advance concepts feel impossible. Other students may find math to be easy breezy! Either way, you've found the right class! This class is perfect for students entering 3rd grade or who have just finished! Day 1: Number Sense & Operations We will learn about different ways to represent numbers, addition & subtraction, repeated addition with multiplication, and multiplication and division basics. Day 2: Multiplication and Division We will use multiplication and division to go in depth on fact families, word problems, and algebraic equations. Day 3: Elapsed time, Fractions, and Word Problems We will use word problems to discuss elapsed time, fractions, and comparing fractions. Day 4: Geometry, Graphs, and Area and Perimeter This is a miscellaneous day that will discuss how to analyze graphs, solve for area and perimeter, as well as discussed geometric shapes and their attributes! Day 5: Math Bingo Day Practice our skills with a review style game! Each class will begin with a "get to know you question", a short brain break, and an opportunity for students to ask questions at any point!
