Welcome to Miss Tee's Third Grade Grammar Party! This elementary grammar class is a fun review or supplemental class that is about all things third grade grammar. (I also offer a second grade grammar course as well.) Learning should be fun and not boring and this class is a great supplement to any ELA curriculum. We will learn, play review games, and just have an overall good time together while formulating a better understanding of "everyday" English grammar and mechanics. This is a very fun and exciting ongoing class in which students will learn all things grammar that would be found in a 3rd grade English Language Arts. What topics will be covered in this course? The third grade language arts/grammar topics covered in this course include sentence structure, parts of a sentence, parts of speech, abbreviation, and more! Each week will have different topics that do not build upon each other so learners can withdraw from the class if necessary; and return at any time. New content will be added weekly as the class remains in session. While it is impossible to list each week's theme as this is an ongoing/indefinite class, here is a preview of the next few weeks: Lesson 1 (Week of June 10) Statements vs. Questions Lesson 2 (Week of June 17) Commands and Exclamations Lesson 3 (Week of June 24) Complete and Simple Subjects and Predicates Lesson 4 (Week of July 1) Compound Subjects and Predicates Note: Lessons will repeat every 9 weeks. What type of virtual learning environment should learners expect? Learners should expect an inclusive learning environment. Everyone is welcomed and everyone will be encouraged to share their ideas and speak. This is a class in which we have plenty of discussions and we have dialogue with each other. This is not a 100% lecture-style class at all. This is a classroom environment, so yes, as the instructor, I am going to facilitate the conversation, but we are going to talk and have a good time while learning. How will the class run? The class will start off with a check-in just to see how the learners are doing. I usually pose a question that has nothing to do with the content. I do this to get the students pumped up with a little fun conversation and ready to go. Once we are done with the catching up for the day, we will move right into the lesson portion of the class. I will ask questions to promote engagement while teaching, and I do small learning checks as I go along. What will the learner walk away with upon completion of this class? This class will give learners the opportunity to build and improve upon their grammar and mechanics skills. Refund Policy: I use the Outschool Limited Refund Policy for my classes. You must cancel within the allotted time by Outschool to get a refund for this class. If the system does not automatically initiate a refund for you on your end when you cancel and/or withdraw, then this means that you have canceled outside of the allotted time; and unfortunately no refund or credit will be granted under any circumstances. Additionally, students must arrive to sessions on time. A session will be canceled without a refund and a future date makeup session will not be scheduled for students that arrive late to class. Students must arrive no later than 10 minutes after the start of class time or the class will be canceled and no refund and/or credit will be granted. Additionally, class/tutoring sessions will not be extended if your learner does not arrive on time for the session. We will cover as much as we possibly can during the allotted time including the time missed for arriving to class late. Transfer Policy: A transfer request may only be made 48 hours prior to the start of your learner’s scheduled session. Learners may only transfer a registration one time and after this time, all registration dates and times are final. In special circumstances after the first transfer has occurred, you may have the option of transferring to another section. You must enroll in a new section first and you will only be refunded for the originally scheduled section if the originally scheduled section if someone takes your slot in the originally scheduled section. You will only receive a refund after you have attended the newly scheduled section. No-Show and Late Policy: Refunds and/or transfers will not be given for no-shows and/or being late. Additionally, learners who arrive late will only be tutored for the remaining time left in their section.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a former English & Language Arts (ELA) tutor/teacher assistant for grades K-5 and a current high school teacher. I see so many students that are not where they need to be when it comes to reading in high school. I think a great deal of this comes from not having that strong foundation that is needed in elementary school/younger ages.
I believe that reading is fundamental. I want students to develop a love for reading. Students should read because they love to and want to, not because they have to.
This is why I am passionate about teaching students how to read because it is important not just in school, but in life period.
