This is a one time class focused on sport psychology and the mental skills of exceptional athletes, and how teenage athletes can utilize these skills to improve their performance.

Class experience

US Grade 8 - 11
Students will learn goal setting, improved concentration, how to combat performance anxiety, how to improve motivation, and how to improve the design of their practices. They will learn the mindset to be a champion and that often the difference between a good and great athlete is their mental abilities. This class can help athletes perform their best and reach their full potential as athletes.
I have a bachelor's of science in psychology from Drake University and a master's degree in educational psychology with a specialization in sport psychology from Florida State University. I have a master's degree in school counseling from Loyola University in Chicago. I was a sport psychology consultant with the men's and women's track and field and cross country teams at Florida State University for 2 years and Loyola's cross country and track teams for a year.
Homework Offered
It is up to the student if they want to adopt any of the activities or techniques they learned into their training. Those techniques have been shown to improve athletic performance. This class acts as a good introduction to my "Sport Psychology: Mental Skills Training for Athletes."
