Social cues can be especially confusing over text messages: What tone did the person who sent this have? Are they mad? Do they really want to hang out with me or not? Why are they SO enthusiastic? We'll discuss how we can never know for sure what someone is thinking or feeling when they send a text, and how that's okay. We'll explore the different "tones" of texting that show up through word choice, punctuation, and use of emojis! We'll learn how to "give people the benefit of the doubt" when...
Students will learn new ways to think about how texting is different for everyone, which may help with social anxiety.
