This is a fun and exciting back-to-school book about the first day of school! I will be reading the story, "There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Books" by Lucille Colandro. I will show this book while reading so that children can follow along. This is a very fun story for children about getting ready for the first day of school. I will be engaging them throughout the story by asking questions and I encourage interaction from all of my students if they would like to interact! I am a very active and animated teacher. I believe children learn best through fun! Before reading the story, we will get to know each other by talking about their favorite book. After reading the story, I turn into the old lady and swallow the objects she swallowed! This is a fun way to help teach children sequencing! After I swallow all of the objects. We will play a game that goes along with the book! I will not mute a student unless I have to or the background noise is distracting to the class. I have also attached a worksheet with two pages they can color after class.
