Theater 101
This 12 week course is designed for students who want to learn more about Theater and Performance! Students will start with history. Then dive into theater concepts like building a character, and scene work.

This class will be ran like normal school class so grades will be administered as such.Class Experience

In this class you will learn: Introduction to Theater, Introduction to Acting, Scene Study & Character Development, Theater Production Basics, Modern Theater & Diverse Voices This is self-paced so a lot of lectures will be pre-taped Videos and lessons. There will be open discussion on Friday's so students can ask men questions and talk with peers. Also, I am available for assistance via-email allow 24 hours for a response. If your students needs more focused assistance I do offer 1:1 lessons.

What is theater?& History of theater
Understanding the art form. Ancient Greek, Shakespearean, and Modern theater.
Lesson 2:
Basic theater terminology & The roles
stage, props, blocking,
actors, directors, playwrights, and designers.
Lesson 3:
Introduction to Acting
The actor’s instrument: Voice, body, and mind. Basic acting techniques: Stanislavski, Meisner, and improv.
Lesson 4:
Introduction to monologues and scene work

Learning Needs
All unique learning learners are welcomed!!! I can arrange the class with slower pacing or offer 1:1 classes for students that need a extra help!
Parental Guidance
Most of the content is safe for all learners. However, some content like Shakespeare and the Greek plays have violence ( swords, Knives, poison )and may show blood. Also, with some of the more current shows there maybe some harsh language and tones. ( for example Hamilton uses adult language and mentions suicide) I will issue a warning before I show these things in class!
Supply List
Handouts will be provided. However, Students will need a notebook, and a computer, camera to record Monologues.
