I use a classic OG lesson format and address errors as they happen. Everyone starts with basic sounds and will work through all syllable types so your child is taught to read a new way. This approach really works and I make it FUN!

There are no "tests" for your child, but it is strongly recommended that parents set aside 10-20 minutes per night for children to read books of interest to them. I will also do an informal screening at the beginning of the class for each child. I also give a progress checklist after 20-25 lessons.Class Experience
Beginner Level
In my daily classes your child will be given new tools to be able to read. All Orton Gillingham tutoring always starts with basic sounds and letters, then moves to the 6 syllable types, and on to multi-syllable words. All lessons will adjust to the needs of each learner and the goal is rewire the brain for learning. Every day we will review known concepts and/or introduce new concepts with a lesson format that is the same each time. Repetition is the key to this type of instruction and each child has a "magic" number of repetitions before new concepts are mastered! When this type of class is a good fit, it will only take a few weeks before your child will tell you or show signs it is working.
Learning Goals
Students will learn to read through a structured, multi-sensory, sequential, prescriptive, and emotionally sound lesson plan. Students will gain a sense of confidence in a few weeks to a few months and parents will see real results reflected by school progress.

This class is designed for children who have not have previous OG or Wilson tutoring. Each student will build a foundation and needs no prior knowledge. The lesson structure as well as my expertise in the moment will support your child.
