What's included

* STEAM is an educational approach that incorporates the arts into the more-familiar STEM model, which includes science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. After brief introductions are made, the teacher will introduce the topic with an interactive Google Slides presentation about the blue-ringed octopus. Students will have a chance to answer questions and make comments as they see a map of the animal's range and learn about its predators and prey, camouflage, size, venom, and special abilities. Next, we will use crayons, colored pencils, and/or markers to make a simple yet detailed drawing of this interesting mollusk that can be found in some tide pools and coral reefs. Students will have the choice to share their work at the end of class and their peers may ask questions or give compliments.
