The two “th”’sounds are rare in languages. In English, you can mispronounce these two “th” sounds and people will understand you, but mispronouncing words is not the best way to speak English. In this class, I will teach the learners how to pronounce the soft (unvoiced) “th” sound first, making sure that the learner is using their tongue and teeth correctly. Then I will give examples of words that use the soft “th” sound and I will check the learners can use the soft “th” sound correctly in these words. Next, I will teach the hard (voices) “th” sound, and I will check that learners use their tongue and teeth correctly to produce this sound, as well as checking the vibration in their throat. I will check the learners’ pronunciation of the hard “th” sound by introducing words using this sound. This is a short class but it is an important class for learners who want to speak English well or fluently. This class is open to native speakers as well as ESOL learners. This is a class that is very interactive between the learners and me with constant checking on conversation.
