Class Experience

This October we’ll have a special additional Sisterhood event for Halloween. Optional Halloween costumes are permitted, and our writing activities will have a Halloween theme!

TWO THINGS TO NOTE:
1. Masks are welcome but should be removed for identification during the first four minutes of class to meet safety and privacy policies.

2. Costumes will be vetted to ensure that they meet Outschool standards (secular and age-appropriate).

Like the usual weekly class, this one-time special event is a safe space and is designed for learners who are currently into any of the following: poetry, short stories, or novels. Writing workshop topics can be responded to with poetry or fiction. This group promotes creativity, empowerment, and confidence through voluntary sharing of work.

All are welcomed to join us - but this class is particularly recommended for girls.

CLASS STRUCTURE
✔ thought-provoking questions
✔ fun in-class creative writing exercises with flexible thinking activities
✔ voluntary sharing of writing

CAMERAS ON FOR A SAFE SPACE
Learners are required to have working cameras in the “on” position for the duration of class. Class is SAFER and more engaging. Please make sure your learner arrives with camera on. Black screens do not promote trust in a group.

TEACHING STYLE
✔ I'm entertaining and friendly.
✔ I prioritize creating a safe, enjoyable space while giving you a quality, fun experience every time.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
This class is for teens who already have a fondness for writing.
Learning Goals
Learners will improve storytelling skills through consistent critical thinking practice and creativity exercises.
Learners will improve "on the spot" thinking.
