Unlock the secrets hidden in your spice rack with "The Science of Spice," an engaging and interactive ongoing class designed for curious minds aged 7-12. Each week, we dive into the fascinating world of spices, focusing on one spice per class to uncover its history, chemistry, and culinary magic.

In this series, we’ll explore spices like fennel, coriander, cumin, and more. Students will learn how these spices have traveled the globe, influenced cultures, and played a crucial role in cuisine. We’ll break down the science that makes each spice unique, from the compounds that create their distinct flavors to their potential health benefits.

Through hands-on experiments, sensory experiences, and lively discussions, students will gain a deeper understanding of the spices they use every day. Each class includes practical tips on how to use the featured spice in cooking, along with easy recipes to try at home.
