The Salem Witch Trials have become part of the American Legend and have occupied pop culture for decades. In this one-time class, we will take a brief look at the beginnings of this dark moment in history, what occurred, and what the impact was on the community. We will meet those accused, learn some of the different theories of what caused the hysteria, and learn what happened to those who were deemed guilty. We will also explore modern day Salem (virtually) and discuss why the Witch Trials...
Students will learn not only about the Salem Witch Trials, but the possible theories of why it occurred and how it has been remembered in pop culture and history.
I have been an educator on Outschool since February of 2018. I have my MBA and MHA, both of which have taught me the value of conducting research and asking questions. I have a passion for history and learning. You can usually find me in the middle of 2-3 books or watching a documentary.

There may be some Youtube videos that are seen during this class. I will share my screen and learners will not need to access them on their own. This class will have discussions of the torture and death of people accused of witchcraft. All discussions will be at an age appropriate level.
