Beginner Level
Welcome to The Reading Laboratory. Congratulations. You have helped your child conquer the basics of reading at an early age. Now, it's time to encourage them to practice reading skills aloud in peer groups or one-on-one. In this class, students will - review common digraphs - review beginning sounds - review ending sounds - read non-fiction and fiction reading content - explore big words {in context} And be asked reading comprehension questions. Each story is likely to introduce your learner to new words, build their confidence speaking aloud, and engage them in sharing their own thoughts about what they have read. Requirements: Students should be comfortable with letter names, letter sounds, many of the cvc word families, and common sight words} and want practice reading aloud in peer groups. Join this Reading Lab if you are ready to read with friends in a positive atmosphere. I use themed PowerPoint Slides, Kindle Reader, short passages from books, and educational websites like IXL. IF YOU COMPLETE ONE SESSION, SIGNING UP AGAIN WILL LIKELY BE REVIEW WITH A FEW DIFFERENT READING SELECTIONS, BASED ON THE READING LEVELS OF THE GROUP.
