Welcome to the Reading Fun Zone—a place where stories come alive and learning feels like an adventure! In this class, you’ll dive into exciting tales, solve mysteries, and explore new worlds while building awesome reading skills. Together, we’ll unlock the secrets of stories, figure out tricky words, and discover just how fun reading can be!

The Reading Fun Zone is thoughtfully designed to support learners with unique needs, including ADHD, Dyslexia, and ASD. For students with ADHD, lessons are structured with engaging, short activities and movement breaks to maintain focus and energy. For learners with Dyslexia, I incorporate multi-sensory techniques such as visual aids, audio support, and hands-on activities to enhance understanding. For students with ASD, the class offers a predictable routine, clear instructions, and opportunities for social interaction in a supportive environment. Every learner is encouraged to progress at their own pace, ensuring a comfortable and inclusive experience for all.

What Will Be Taught?

Students will develop critical reading comprehension skills, including identifying the main idea, understanding story elements, sequencing events, using context clues, and recognizing cause-and-effect relationships. Each lesson is designed to strengthen foundational reading skills while fostering a love for stories.

Topics Covered

Story Elements: Protagonist, setting, conflict, resolution, and theme

Sequencing: Organizing events in order

Main Idea and Supporting Details: Distinguishing the core message

Context Clues: Deciphering the meaning of unfamiliar words

Cause and Effect: Understanding relationships between actions and outcomes

How is the Class Structured?

Each session follows a predictable structure to ensure clarity and engagement:

Warm-Up Activity: Fun word games or quick storytelling prompts to spark interest.

Mini-Lesson: A focused explanation of the day’s topic using slides, visuals, or video clips.
