In this class we will discuss the Quadratic Function. The Quadratic Function is used to model real life occurrences such as the path a ball takes when thrown or dropped from a structure, the maximum or minimum of the path a projectile takes. Below are the specific topics we will cover: ⢠Define a Quadratic Function. ⢠Convert a Quadratic Function from General to Standard Form. ⢠Define the Axis of Symmetry and Vertex of a Quadratic Function. ⢠Find the x and y intercepts of a Quadratic Function. ⢠Graph a Quadratic Function.
I love teaching Math! I taught high school math at a public school for 8 years until I had the opportunity to work for a Community College, where I currently teach students who are working towards a 2 year degree then transfer to a 4 year university. I have taught Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus in the high school setting. I currently teach College Algebra, Trigonometry, and Business Calculus at the Community College.
I prefer the smaller classes where I can get to know each student, their learning style, and past successes or challenges in mathematics. I want to be a positive contributor to your childās math experience, and hope this leads to future interest and success in math and math related courses.
I have been married for 14 years, have 3 kids, enjoy watching and playing sports, and I love to cook. I am usually working on home improvement projects in various stages of development.
I graduated from Ball State University with a Major in Secondary Mathematics, and have a Masters Degree in Teaching Secondary Mathematics from Purdue University.
