In this one-time class, students will have fun while learning how powerful having a growth mindset can be in helping them overcome challenges they experience in life. Students will have the opportunity to learn about what it means to have a growth mindset and what the benefits of having a growth mindset are. We will have a discussion around what a fixed mindset is and compare that to a growth mindset using various scenarios. We will discuss statements they can use that cultivate a growth...
Students will learn what it means to have a growth mindset versus a fixed mindset, what the benefits are of having a growth mindset, and statements they can use that cultivates a growth mindset.
As a school social worker, I have been working with students in preschool through 8th grade for 14 years on topics such as coping skills, identifying emotions, and practicing mindfulness.
There is no homework, but students are encouraged to continue practicing growth mindset statements in order for it to become more natural.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
