Beginner Level
This course will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the periodic table, including its structure, the properties of elements, and their significance in science and everyday life. We will explore a range of topics, including: - The history and organization of the periodic table - Understanding atomic structure and subatomic particles - Element groups and families - Chemical properties and reactivity - Real-world applications of elements - The role of elements in the universe The course is structured over 8 weeks, with each week focusing on a specific topic. Each session will combine lessons with hands-on activities and collaborative projects. Teaching will be delivered through a mix of engaging lectures, multimedia presentations, and interactive demonstrations. Each lesson will include real-life examples to connect theory with practice. My teaching style is interactive and inquiry-based, fostering a collaborative environment where students feel comfortable sharing their ideas and asking questions. I encourage curiosity and exploration. Students will have multiple opportunities to interact through: - Live lectures and discussions - Interactive quizzes and games - Group activities and projects - Video clips and animations to illustrate concepts - Weekly Q&A sessions for personalized feedback Join us for an engaging journey into the world of the periodic table, where students will build a solid foundation in understanding the elements that make up our universe!

Parental Guidance
Parents are encouraged to maintain open communication with their children about the topics covered in this course, as it will help foster a supportive learning environment. The class will cover a range of subjects, including the history and organization of the periodic table, atomic structure, and the properties of elements. While the content is primarily educational, some students may find discussions about atomic particles or chemical reactivity to be overwhelming or challenging. It's important for parents to be aware that certain concepts might evoke questions or anxieties, particularly regarding the real-world applications of elements and their roles in various reactions.
Additionally, while the course does not involve any hazardous materials, students should still be reminded about safety precautions when discussing the chemical properties of elements, particularly when it comes to reactivity. To create a safe learning space, the course will emphasize the importance of respect and confidentiality, allowing students to express any discomfort they might feel regarding specific topics. Parents should encourage their children to share their feelings and questions about the course content and be proactive in seeking clarification or additional support as needed. Together, we can create a nurturing environment that promotes curiosity and understanding of the periodic table!

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have a background in education, with experience working with middle school students in various settings. My qualifications include a masters degree in education. I am currently in my 10th year as a teacher! I have worked in private school where I taught Math, Science, Health, Art, PE, and Health. I have also worked in public school as a Science teacher. As a part of district mandated curriculum, every week we had to teach Social-Emotional Learning. I have worked alongside and with many students who have dyslexia, autism, emotional disturbances, oppositional defiance, anxiety, ADD, and ADHD.
