There are over 3,500 snake species with around 600 venomous snake species in the world; in this course, students will have the opportunity to learn about the world's most venomous snakes. While students are learning about these deadly snakes they will also learn about their individual characteristics, where they are located, the toxicity of the venom, the number of deaths per year from each species, and so much more. This class is structured using a PowerPoint presentation, video, and audio clips, while encouraging an open discussion among the students once the information has been presented.

Parental Guidance
In this course, students will see photographs of snake bite victims; while the images are not considered graphic please be aware that your student will see a swollen hand and foot, two individuals who are happily posing in hospital beds after being treated with anti-venom, a rash, and an individuals arm that did not heal properly. This class is not designed to gross out students but, make them aware of what can occur if they were to encounter a bite; we also discuss symptoms such as vomiting, headaches, etc.

I have a strong passion for animals and have worked with animals for over thirty years. I enjoy teaching others about the animal kingdom and how conservation can help sustain various animals from extinction. I feel that my passion for animals can create a fun and exciting class for students; while my years of teaching can help enhance the learning environment.
