Description

Class Experience

Students will learn how plot development drives a story.
Students will learn how fear can drive people's reactions.
Students will learn how to critically analyze a literature text while using details to support their reasoning.
I LOVE Literature. I also have a passion for theater. This is by far one of my favorite scripts to teach and read with middle school students. While it is considered a classic due to its age, the themes are timeless and the action is suspenseful. I even publically performed this play when I was in middle school so I put even more passion and drive into the major events, themes, and application as I teach.
Vocabulary application sheets, Literature analysis sheets based off of the scripted reading
Copy of "The Monsters are Due on Maple Street" I will provide the various sheets that we will be utilizing for this unit - assessments, daily worksheets, and homework activities
Various formal multiple choice assessments to check for progress between each act. In class discussion and formal sheets
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
There is a portion of the script in which one of the neighbors is accidentally shot in the pandemonium on Maple Street.
