Lesson 1
The Many Ways of Seeing
How can you transform the way you look at everyday things and see the world as an artist does, to then go and create meaningful works of art yourself?
Learners will expand their critical thinking and observational skills to truly engage with the visual world and give them the confidence to appreciate all art going forward. This an extremely interactive class, inviting all learners to be active participants throughout the lessons.
Trained in art history at The University of Michigan, I successfully created, and for several years taught, a full high school level art history class. I am also a longtime teacher of literature for both middle and high school students. Founder and former coach of an award-winning Speech and Debate team that competed at local, state and national levels, long-time speech judge for local, regional, national speech events for NCFL and National Speech and Debate Association, former teacher of high school debate and rhetoric, art history, literature, and AP Language and Composition.
