Teacher expertise and credentials
Florida Teaching Certificate
Master's Degree in Education from Johns Hopkins University Evening College
I'm an experienced certified classroom teacher and virtual educator, with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master's degree in Education from Johns Hopkins University with a specialization in Reading.
I love to help students master skills while having fun doing it!
Given my academic background, it should be no surprise that my favorite subject to teach is phonics! My young students learn letters and sounds very quickly because I use visuals, music, and movements in my teaching. Watching the smiles on their faces as they learn the sounds, which then help them to blend and read, is very rewarding to me! Besides phonics, I also like to teach animals, science, literature, math, social studies, and social emotional development (such as kindness, gratitude and self-esteem) lessons.
And...since I am a big fan of magic, you never know when I may perform a quick magic trick.
