Welcome Scientists! Are you ready to explore the world all around us? Each week in this FLEX course we will focus on a science concept. We will have recorded lessons about physical science, 5 senses, solar system, animals, plants, and more! Once we learn the concept students will also follow along with a recorded lesson to complete a simple science experiment perfect for little learners! Please see the list of items we need for the course in the materials section. Most materials will be things you already have in your home! I would suggest that during the experiment part of the class that an adult help the little scientist if needed. I am excited to meet you! Class Schedule: Week 1: What is Science? What do scientist do? Week 2: What are our Senses? Week 3: What are Solids, Liquids, and Gases? Week 4: How can we observe and describe objects? Week 5: How can we compare and contrast different kinds of animals? Week 6: What are the parts of a plant? Week 7: Where are we in the solar system? Week 8: How does the human body work? What to Expect each week: 1. Monday: Pre-recorded lesson and worksheet. Students will follow along to a pre-recorded lesson. In the lessons, I will read books, show diagrams, and teach concepts students will need to answer our weekly question. Students will be asked a question at the end of the lesson for them to respond to in the classroom with a video. 2. Wednesday: Pre-recorded experiment. Students will follow along with pre-recorded experiment. I will be detailed and step students through each step of the experiment and review the concepts from the lesson. Students will be asked to record a video or share pictures at the end of the experiment sharing their results. 3. Friday: Every week we will play a different interactive game like a scavenger hunt, what's missing?, solve a puzzle, escape room, solve the clues, charades, boom cards, and more to continue reviewing our weekly theme. Students will also be given a mini science reader to print and review.
