The human heart is an organ that pumps blood throughout the body via the circulatory system, supplying oxygen and nutrients to the tissues and removing carbon dioxide and other wastes. In this class, we will learn about the human heart and how it functions. We will discuss the various parts to the human heart (Chambers, valves, layers), the differences between arteries and veins, and learn about the heart's anatomy by sketching our own pictures as we learn how blood travels through this vital organ. In this class, we will also learn many fun and interesting facts about the human heart. This class brings art and science together, making learning about the heart educational and fun! Students will participate in class discussion, and ask questions as we go through our lecture. At the end of this class, students will have a beautiful study aid for them to continue to practice all of the parts of the heart on their own. This class runs around an hour to an hour and a half depending on the number of students that we have in the class. Class participation and drawing is required for this class. No cameras should be off unless a parent notifies me ahead of time. Students should ask questions and participate in discussions either through chat directly to me as the teacher, or vocally. This is to ensure that students understand the material.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I studied organs and dissected cadavers at Yale University School of Medicine in three different programs. I continued with this education at the University of New Haven, in one of the top forensic science programs in the Nation, where I obtained my degree in Forensics and Criminal Investigation.
In my studies, I found that my passion for art helped me learn anatomical information by drawing, and I incorporate that in my classes.
