What is Memorial Day? Why do we have this holiday? In this class, learners will learn the history of Memorial Day. We will begin class by discussing what students know about Memorial Day. We will then learn the history of Memorial Day, when it started, how it has changed, and how we honor our fallen soldiers. I have degrees in History and Political Science. I have taught about Memorial Day in classes with students from 2 years old through adults. I have worked with volunteer organizations that support deployed military members and veterans for ten years.
There will be pictures of a cemetery with flags and a casket with a flag. I will not show any pictures of fallen soldiers.
